Don Philabaum
Your wandering Best Practice Reporter
Don Philabaum founded IAC in 1995 to provide social networking applications to groups and organizations worldwide. With 10 years and more grey hairs, Don has participated in the ebbs and flows of the dot com world. From providing free home pages, to affinity based shopping malls, to lifetime email addresses and communities based on viral marketing and push pull techniques, Don has learned how to successfully identify ideas that will work and steer away from “crash and burn” concepts.
In 1998 Don published the tome that helped campus administrators understand how they could be organizing their campus around the tools that Internet provided. “Create a NET-Centered Campus Strategy”, became a blue print for businesses and campuses to act on. An engaging speaker, Don has shared ideas and concepts with groups and organizations from across the US , Canada , Europe and Australia .
An author of many white papers, he is currently helping organizations with two new white papers, “Create an Email Marketing Strategy” that provides marketing ideas on how organizations can effectively use Internet tools to use accepted marketing techniques to increase participation and contributions. When it became apparent that multiple departments on campus were starting to send multiple emails to alumni/members causing some irritation and diminishing the message, Don wrote a white paper entitled, “Create an Email Use Policy” to provide campus administrators a blueprint on how to create a policy that best suits their needs.
Diana Schumacher
Your at large Podcasting Reporter
At a very young age, Diana Schumacher helped found a non denominational church that has grown to 1,000 members, who recently built a new $3 million dollar church. After decades growing a congregation with ever increasing needs, Diana decided to try her gifts in another area.
A local TV station was in need of an on air talent to interview noted guests. As a duck takes to water, Diana quickly learned she also had a gift for making guest feel comfortable and relaxed. The end result were interviews that were touching, informative and true to her calling, inspirational.
If that were not enough, Diana decided to follow her vision on what the emerging Internet could do to bring people together and in 1997 joined IAC. During the dot com years, she shared her vision, learned about the needs of the industry and rapidly found herself lecturing and providing direction to industry executives.
Falling back on her interviewing and entertainment skills, Diana continues to lead monthly Webinars hosted by IAC at no cost to industry professionals. If you haven't caught an IAC Webinar, you are missing out on a lot of great information.
